Latino Fimmaker's showcase |
The Latino filmmaker's showcase is a special project this
year. The emergence of Latino and Black films and media in Hollywood has underscored the contribution and importance of these
Americans to the overall cultural fabric of our country.
Locally, one of the largest ethnic groups in our region is
the Latino population. Issues of importance to this segment of our community are of paramount importance to this Festival.
Latino
and African American filmmakers are encouraged to submit work of any theme or variety to this category. The only pre-requisite
is that the film-maker must be of African, Hispanic, Latino or native American descent.
Thank you for your consideration
and good luck!

This year, the Sacramento Film Festival seeks films of an
environmental nature and theme. Working closely with University of California Davis, Environmental Sciences Department, the
City and county of Sacramento, we're seeking the best films that speak to the fragile nature of our environment and how we
all can keep it safe. Knowledge is the key. We look to your film as part of the solution to our environmental issues as a
planet by shedding light.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE As Sacramento's only festival
dedicated solely to Cinema art, The Sacramento Film Festival's mission is to be a catalyst for greater appreciation of Cinema
as art, build the local filmmaking community and work with Hollywood and independents alike to showcase Northern California
as a dynamic place to shoot and screen movies.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL It gives us great pleasure
to introduce you to a very important film arts event, The Sacramento International Film Festival.
The Sacramento Film
Festival (TM) is Sacramento's only premiere film arts showcase.
We accept only SACRAMENTO PREMIERES, meaning films
which have not previously played in our area. Filmmakers enjoy the Festival for its exceptional hospitality and its commitment
to visionary artists. With enthusiastic audiences and beautiful venues including historic Tower and Crest Theaters, the Sacramento
International Film Festival offers a fantastic way to premiere a film in the Capital of California. Plus, as the region's
only all Cinema event, the Festival can gain much publicity for a film opening.
Don't be confused by similar names
or marketing slogans. The Sacramento Film Festival (TM) is the centerpiece for film arts in our region and the only Capital
area Film Event to have featured exclusive Hollywood talent including: American Icon Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill
Bill), Actor/Director Louis Mandylor (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Two time Academy Award winner for best picture John Daly
(Platoon, The Last Emperor), Pixar Producer, John Walker ( The Incredibles, Ratatouille), William Morris executive Chris Lockhart,
UCLA Screenwriting Dean Lew Hunter, Director Vicky Jenson (Shrek, A Shark's Tale) and a host of industry luminaries.
Our
goal is to blend the worlds of international, independent, local and Hollywood cinema that all may learn, grow and celebrate
the craft of filmmaking. The Festival is proud to offer this first class event in celebration of artists and their craft.
